A peasant’s sacrifice for his ungrateful son.
His fellow friends had made him feel bad to an extent of attributing his impoverished life to his father. He saw him as lazy and unambitious. His father never questioned his behavior, rather he felt he was also not doing his best. He grew concerned and hurt, just to appease their son’s desires.
A year later, just after his completion of advanced level, he dreamt of his father passing away. He was shocked, the boy turned to his mother for consolation then the mother told him that he wasn’t thankful.
“Your father has done the best for you with limited resources and opportunities. He never bought himself luxurious food, not to mention clothing, yet you never appreciated him. You compared your life with others.”
The following morning, he went straight to his father's bedroom in tears, feeling bad over his ungrateful conduct. He was forgiven, after listening to his father’s story he realized that he had lived in abject poverty without any school education due to financial hardships yet he still was able too raise him above his level. Mark reformed from a deeper insult of his father to a thankful son.
Today, Mark and his parents have built a new relationship, and understands their struggles and his achievements are the best.
