Power of gratitude and appreciation - in Our Lives

Cultivate gratitude

Have you ever stopped to think about the blessings in your life and began comparing yourself to others? If so, this post is for you!

In today's world, it's easy to get caught up in a comparison game, mostly when scrolling through social media platforms - seeing the highlight reels of others' lives, and suddenly you’ll feel as though your own blessings are insignificant. And start to think:

“What’s wrong with me, why can't I have what others have, isn't my life as theirs- such worries and pressure will not detach from your nerves.

But here's a fact: comparison is a thief of joy. It steals your gratitude and leaves you feeling empty and dissatisfied. When you focus on what others have, you’ll eventually forget to appreciate God, for what he has already done.

Take a step back and reflect on the blessings in your life. Make a list of what you remember!

Is there a good bed you sleep on or food on the table; didn’t you mention your good health or that freedom you have etc.

Note that: embrace every blessing no matter how small it may appear to you, for it's often in their absence that you’ll discover their true value - when they're gone. What we wake up with everyday are the greatest gifts of all.

Remember, blessings come in many forms, just don’t compare your journey to someone else's. Your path is unique, and so are your blessings.

Be thankful for your blessings, no matter what. Do you know, there's someone fighting, where every day is a battle for survival - food is a luxury they can't afford to wait for than a fight to freedom and peace but just have those ones with even fighting. Let this be a reminder to cherish what you have and to never take your blessings for granted.

Perhaps God has answered a prayer for you, while others have prayed for the same thing without an answer. Or maybe you've recovered from an illness in a hospital bed, while someone else admitted on the same bed before you didn't survive. But you still call it Lucky ‘cause you still think you were quite lucky. It’s not! thus God’s enabling.

Our seasons differs, yeah, we have different seasons in life through which we get blessed, but don't take your blessings for granted. The more you cultivate gratitude adoring God, the Giver- the wider will be the gate to abundance, and the closer will be to new blessings.

Just as the same rain can produce different yields in neighboring fields, our lives are subject to varying seasons and outcomes. This unpredictable trend should inspire us to appreciate our lives, acknowledging that the best is yet to come.

So, take a moment to reflect on the blessings in your life. Are you grateful for what God has done for you, even when others may still be waiting for their prayers to be answered? Let us learn to appreciate the unique seasons of our lives with a thankful heart.
